Someone called animal welfare on us. PAWS won’t even tell us what the complaint was as “it might give away who called”. So far we have been visited twice. The initial visit, and then a standard follow-up visit with their own veterinarian and three vet techs.

We welcomed them into our facility as we have nothing to hide. We are a rescue. We provide vetting, loving care, and shelter for all of the stray, abandoned, sick and injured cats that we are called about and find outside.

Apparently, we need another building yesterday, with separate rooms for quarantine, or else they’ve threatened to come and take all of our cats. They don’t care that we’ve given them all of the vet records. Apparently our current accommodations are not satisfactory, and they have been extremely diligent in trying to find issues with our rescue.

All of the other shelters and rescues are currently full because of kitten season. What do you think is going to happen to all of our cats if they have nowhere to go? Yeah. Euthanasia. Apparently they are better off multiplying, spreading sickness and disease, and dying horribly painful deaths outside rather than being in our care.

So the government won’t do anything to step up with a low-cost spay neuter program or to help the cats that are injured or diseased outside, but because a registered charity is doing our damnedest, they’re coming after us and have been making us dance since day one. Before they even came to our property, my husband and I spent thousands of our own dollars upgrading our newly built 30” x 30” outbuilding that was intended to be his garage. We installed an overhead heat system, spray foam insulated, ran lines for water, purchased a water heater, installed a ventilation system, upgraded it, and we are now being told by PAWS that it is not adequate enough. We need a larger space with separate rooms for quarantine.

This is the most important plea for donations that I have ever made. If we don’t raise enough money to get another building immediately, I will have no choice but to shut down.

Whoever the disgruntled person is that sought out to reek this havoc on me and my dedicated team, shame on you. You’ve put all of these cats lives at risk for your own selfish revenge plot. Karma, do your thing.

People are going to talk. They always do. I really don’t care about that. What I do care about is the actual health and welfare of our cats. They are what matters the most.

There has to be someone out there that can help us. There has to be someone out there that can’t stand what the government is doing. We are not the bad guy. Why are we being attacked like this? I started this rescue because I love animals, and now the government is coming after me even though I have all of the veterinary records in the world.
